About the intended parents
My name is Shirley, and my husband is John. We are both down-to-earth and live our lives within that value system. We're best friends who enjoy doing mostly everything together. I love being a mother and taking care of a home, and John is a wonderful provider and family man. We both work in the Human Service field and try to make life a little better for those with developmental disabilities.
What they are looking for
This is our second marriage for both my husband and I. We had children in our first marriages but would love to experience the joy and love of bringing up a baby together. We were meant to go through the natural progressions of falling in love, marrying, buying the house with the white picket fence, and then having babies. Unfortunately, we met too late in life, and I'm no longer able to conceive or carry a baby. We'd love to find a traditional surrogate and use donated sperm, which would ultimately lead to my husband and I adopting the wonderful little gift of life who we would love, cherish, and care for as our own.
Personal message
Dear Caring Soul, We didn't want to start out this letter addressing you as a surrogate mother because that just seems too technical and cold. In our eyes, we see you as a very emotional, sentimental, empathetic, giving, and caring woman. Here is our story in sort of a nutshell. Our names are John and Shirley, and when we met, we started forming a bond, which consists of trust, understanding, friendship, and not only love....but like! Now, there's no doubt that most couples love each other, but to honestly LIKE your partner and want their company all the time is something very unique. We have that type of relationship and want to share the magic with a baby. Although we did have children during our first marriages, the yearning to have our own child together never goes away but gets stronger. It eats at our hearts that we can't conceive a child together and bring him or her up with our old fashioned values. But, because my husband was adopted by two wonderful people, we would also love the chance to bring up a baby together even if there is no biological connection. It's the actual parenting and mutual admiration of doing so that would bring much joy and fulfillment to our lives! Not to mention the warmth that would be felt by the baby. And because you're such a wonderful woman to even entertain the thought of helping a couple such as ourselves, we bless you and know that the act of giving someone a child and seeing the looks on their faces will be an enormous sense of satisfaction for yourself as well.
