About the intended parents
My husband and I are employed, middle class non-smokers with 2 beautiful boys 10 and 3 (we have one together) prior to my diagnosis we were actively trying to have another child. Our son was 15 months old when we found out I had cervical cancer. It was absolutely devastating on many levels. Now that my health has returned we want to pursue having another child. Our hope is that I will be able to carry our child. I would love to experience another pregnancy but our reality is this may not be possible. We are currently attending a fertility clinic and will be freezing our own embryos.
What they are looking for
Due to having cervical cancer 2 years ago we are uncertain that my uterus would be able to carry our baby. The radiation thinned the uterus wall and in order to implant an embryo the uterus needs to be a certain thickness in order for it to implant and a placenta to attach.
Personal message
We do have 2 beautiful boys but our hope is that we will be able to give another sibbling to our sons. The gift of carrying our child for us goes beyond what words can express. I didn`t realize how blessed I was when I was able to conceive on my own. It breaks my heart to hear our 3 year old ask for a sibbling knowing this may not be a reality for us. As a surrogate I would rather you have already had your own child/children. Non smoker, and have no issues with drugs or alcohol. A good family support system is a must.
