The Reasons I Want To Be A Surrogate Mother:

I have always wanted to be a mother myself, however there has never been a right time for me in my life and being a single woman at almost 36 years old now I feel like perhaps motherhood may not ever come for me since I am single right now, getting in the later years of still being able to have a child, and it takes time to get to know someone enough before choosing to have a life with them and make a baby with them. So, perhaps I can allow my body and soul to help grow a little blessing for someone else who may not be able to carry. Also, even if I am not ready for a child myself, I still would like to have the chance to experience pregnancy.

Description Of Myself:

This is going to be long so bear with me… I am very family-oriented and spend a lot of time helping my mother, grandmother, and great aunt who are up in age. I have three siblings of which I am the oldest and whom I have a very good relationship with. We are all there for one another in times of need and still come together for holidays to spend time together with other family as well even with everyone’s busy lives. I am originally from Orlando, Florida. In 2004 there were some unforeseen events that occurred including losing our home to Hurricane damage, while shortly after, finding out my grandfather in Alabama had cancer. So, after being homeless for a little while and moving around from hotels to different family members for maybe 6-8 months and finally to a rental in Georgia provided by FEMA for about 6 months, me, my mom, and my younger siblings moved to north Alabama to be here for our grandfather. I did fairly well in high school at least making A’s and B’s when I wasn’t distracted by being in puppy love with a boy, haha. In 11th-12th grade I took cosmetology at the local trade school, but decided to focus on nursing in college. After finishing all my electives and being accepted into nursing school, I was in a financial position to where I couldn’t survive through nursing school. That’s when I decided to join the National Guard as a medic to help get me through college. Other life events happened and I never made it back to school after joining, and have since changed my mind about nursing. Forever not knowing what I actually wanted to complete a degree in, I have finally decided to go back to school next year and at the very least get a business degree and focus on entrepreneurship since the college local to me doesn’t offer what I would really want to focus on which would be a more naturopathic focus and organic horticulture and herbalism. I would move to somewhere that offers these subjects, but I want to stay close to home so I can help take care of my family and I have four dogs so it’s not as easy for me to just up and move to anywhere. From 2011-2019 I served in the Alabama Army National Guard for eight years as a medic. My first few jobs until I was about 23 were in the restaurant and hospitality field. I have had several jobs since then in the caregiving field working with elderly, disabled, and intellectually disabled people and have also cared for family members when they were ill, injured, or needed palliative care. It was very special to me to have the privilege of being the main caregiver for my great grandmother who was bedridden with Alzheimer’s during her last year on this earth. Getting to be there with her during the time she needed usme and my family the most and getting to share some memorable moments with her during those times is one of my most precious and fond memories I will always cherish. For a short time I took up truck driving and that was exhilarating as a woman living on the road and getting to travel around the country with my dog, however it posed to be more difficult to take care of myself and had its share of safety challenges while living on the road like that so I had to give up that career and soon after was when I started taking care of my great grandmother. Since then I had some other jobs as a private caregiver, but I had to take a break after Covid to focus on my health and am currently able to rely on my VA disability checks for now until I get back into school and can shift my focus more into starting my own business. ~~~ 36 y/o female with no children. I would like to be very honest up front and let you know that I have had miscarriages in the past, but that was before I discovered I have an iodine deficiency that was more than likely contributing to that so I supplement now and it has drastically changed my health for the better so I strongly feel like that will not be a problem going forward. I am about 170-175 lbs currently and have recently lost weight since discovering my iodine deficiency Spring of 2024 and supplementing with iodine and lots of other vitamins and minerals to support thyroid function and overall health. I am striving to still drop about another 10-15 lbs, but am not forcing it. I just let it come off naturally as I have worked on healing my body naturally and trying to slowly integrating a low impact exercise and meditation routine. Altogether I have lost about 45 lbs and 30lbs of that was just in the last year or so. I don’t use tobacco products, vape, drink, or do any drugs. The only time I drink is if I am sick or congested I will drink hot tea with a little whiskey and honey in it and that seems to help better with the congestion and cough. I try to eat healthy for the most part, but I do occasionally eat junk food still which I have zero problem making even healthier changes to my diet in order to be a surrogate! I don’t take any medications and like to stay away from over the counter meds as much as possible. I prefer natural herbal medicine and holistic practices over pharmaceutical drugs unless I just absolutely need to. I have been slowly converting my whole lifestyle to more natural practices from not wearing synthetic clothing materials to only using essential oils and more natural products on my skin and for cleaning so very low hormone disruptors in the home now. I was vaccinated as a child, but I think my mom chose to space out the vaccines and not go with the schedule. I was also vaccinated throughout my life until deciding to stop after having bad reactions to vaccines and then further educating myself about vaccines. I was not able to decline vaccination while I served in the Army, but once I got out in 2019 I got one more flu vaccine that I had a pretty bad reaction to and haven’t had anything else since. I am not currently working disabled veteran - ptsd, so I have plenty of time to focus on having a healthy pregnancy. As far as my anxiety/PTSD and other health issues related to deficiencies go they are very much under control right now with holistic healing practices, maintaining a low stress lifestyle, vitamins/supplements, and a mostly nutritional diet tailored to my specific needs. I do still consume caffeine via coffee and lightly sweetened iced tea, but if I was trying to conceive obviously that would all stop. I also don’t consume raw fish so no problem there.

My Letter To You:

I understand that most will look at my profile and think it is not a good idea to choose me because I have had miscarriages and don’t have any children of my own my dogs are my kids, haha, but please don’t completely rule me out because of that. I am hoping to match with a couple who believes in and/or practices more of a “crunchy” lifestyle. Honesty and transparency is a must for me. I need whoever is going to be parents of the child I carry for them to work with me as a team throughout this whole process. Obviously I would like some compensation for this, but it is not my main priority to discuss that in the beginning. We can discuss compensation after making sure we are compatible for surrogacy. I am a disabled veteran so I get seen at the VA for most of my healthcare needs and I also have Medicaid for women’s healthcare needs as well. I can use that for healthcare during pregnancy, but I would prefer to match with a couple who would rather pay for more holistic care and more natural birth plan during pregnancy and just use my healthcare as a back up plan. Looking for future parents that would choose to allow the baby to receive all their cord blood, not vaccinate or get vitamin K injection, pay for me to have my placenta encapsulated for myself to help recover from pregnancy and provide extra nutrition for the baby, and allow me to breastfeed as long as it is approved by the proper medical staff to be more beneficial for the baby than a formula. I have not come up with a timeline yet, this is something we can discuss as a team, but I would like to breastfeed at least in the beginning maybe the first two weeks or even longer if the couple agrees to that and then switch to pumping and freezing my milk so the baby gets to receive my milk for at least the first year or two instead of having to be put on formula as long as my milk proves to be healthy enough for the baby. I do not expect to be involved in the babies life after I finish breastfeeding and pumping, but it would be nice to receive pictures for birthdays and family pictures for holidays and perhaps a letter once a year just showing how they are doing in life. I would also like the parents to one day let the child know about me as an important party in how they go to be a part of this world and be a part of the loving family that chose me as their surrogate when they feel they are old enough to understand, but that is not a 100 expectation. These details can all be discussed and gone over with and we can decide as a team whatever the parents-to-be and I agree upon and feel is best for them as a family and for the child in those regards. I understand that most people might just prefer for the surrogate to just be gone once pregnancy is over, however I do feel it is very important for the baby to have natural breastmilk over formula so as long as that is an option. Breastfeeding is not only important to the baby, but it would also be an important factor for my body to heal from pregnancy as well. So this is very important to me. I am open to any drug/alcohol testing, genetic testing, or health screenings prenatal, during pregnancy, and postnatal until the baby is no longer receiving my milk as long as I am not having to pay out of pocket for any of those expenses including fuel costs and lunch for the day if I have to drive to a facility to receive those tests. I would also ask that after the baby is born, the family continue to help contribute toward nutritional expenses for food and vitamins for myself while the baby is still receiving my milk for the first 1-2 years. Again, payment can all be discussed later on. I do not feel like I will be expecting an extravagant amount for surrogacy outside of whatever costs to contribute to the health of myself and the baby during and after pregnancy and maybe a small clothing expense for a few organic maternity outfits, but I would like to make sure I match with a couple first before getting into extreme payment details. I would also like there to be a contractual agreement once all details are finalized between myself as the surrogate and the couple/parents-to-be. I hope that’s not too many details, but I think it is important to be fully transparent with such an important task as growing a little human! I will likely be asking my own questions to make sure I feel I am doing this for the right family that I feel is ready to take care of a child. I do not want to contribute to bringing a baby into this world for someone who is not ready or who I feel is not a match. Thank you for your time in reading this novel! Feel free to ask me any and all questions. I hope to hear from you soon :
