Why MARIA M** is here
There has been no greater feeling than the relief and joy after birthing my two babies. I fondly recall holding my baby immediately after and crying tears of joy. While that deep emotional feeling will forever be unmatched I have to be very grateful that I have the ability and opportunity to carry and birth my own children. I know and have met many women who are unable to do the same. It's heartwrenching to see their tears and pain. Many women who I have encountered feel inadequate if they cannot bear children. Another thing is that we now live in 2014, this isn't the 50's and things are different. Not everyone is looking for marriage, and gay marriage is becoming increasingly accepted. If I am accepted to be a gestational surrogate I hope to bring joy to someone and give them the gift of having a family. This journey would not be solely about me, this journey would be about the bliss and elation of the 'intended parents.' The child I carry would not be mine, but theirs as I am merely the vehicle used.
